Sharing the smooth bokeh, warm colours and striking dimensionality of the Leica R and also modern Leica M lenses, the 70-180 Leica R zoom was one of the most advanced designs Leica created for its R line of glass, which is really important in a zoom. As such it is a bridge between the older Leica R and newer Leica M. It even works well with the extremely controlled Summilux-C. Its a true Leica companion. Please note this lens breathes — especially on its wider end. At 180 (where its most frequenly used) the breathign is pretty well controlled. A very compact long lens with 95mm front.
