Low-Con Flare
Our resident anamorphic wizard, Victor Muniak, created this oustanding anamorphic optic. It is a rear-anamorphic lens but the aberrations in the unusual TechnoCooke zoom collaborate in an exceedingly fortuitous manner with the rear anamorphic elements to create a sublime anamorphic lens with pleasant geometry and flare along with an extremly flattering image. This is an old school studio zoom — the first modern zoom actually (the base lens before all the modifications is a Cooke 20-100) with extra heavy glass in it so its not light or small. But, in the hands of the right camera team you could shoot an entire film on this one lens and the resulting imagery would be outstanding.
