RAW Take:
Lachman's Legends

Some of the oldest cinema lenses ever made — our set has glass from the 1930's — yet their plush focus fall-off is surprisingly consistent and their image quality was used by Ed Lachman to secure back-to-back Oscar nominations. These lenses favour DPs that can control their set and lighting to strategically embrace their flattering character rather than a super fast stop to move the story. In spite of their great age they have perfect focal length spacings. Turns out the people at Baush and Lomb knew what they were doing. We have the ideally matched period-correct Angenieux 18.5 filling out the wide end, which we've housed to work perfectly with the Baltars in this, the first ZERO Optik set to feature deep engravings. It really is a special set as it cemented RAW's special relationship with ZERO Optik.
