Atlas Mercury 1.5x anamorphics build from the increasingly strong reputation forged by their 2x Orion brethren, trading some squeeze ratio for greater full frame coverage and smaller, lighter size. Does the 1.5x squeeze work? We think yes — they capture the differential breathing oval bokeh that contributes to the wonderfully immersive anamorphic style in a package that works on gimbals and in tight confines. As with the Orions we can tailor more relaxed contrast and modulate their flare.
